St. Brother Andre School will play host to the Blues In The Schools program from Mon. Mar. 2nd until Fri. Mar. 13th.  Blues in the Schools is an educational program that was created to promote, preserve, and perpetuate the art, culture, and heritage of blues music and to examine the music’s influence on other genres. RBC Bluesfest brings artists/educators to Ottawa and pairs them with local musicians for a two-week residency in Ottawa-area schools.

Students from JK to Gr. 6 will attend four performances  by Bluesfest artists from Mon. Mar. 2nd to Thurs. Mar. 5th. All performances are from 9:30—10:30 am

Two of the artists will then work with all of the Gr. 5 students in the school from Fri. Mar. 6th to Thurs. Mar. 12th. The focus will be on a more in-depth look at the history of music and music playing techniques. At the end of these workshops the Gr. 5 students and the artists will perform for the whole school showcasing what they have learned. This performance will take place on Fri. Mar. 13th from 9:30—10:30 am. Parents are most welcome to attend.
