 Dear St. Brother André  Community,

As we enter the Victoria Day long weekend it certainly has a positive feel with Phase 1 of the provincial opening plan.  I was hoping to have some good news with regards to returning to school in June however at this time we are still waiting for official announcements from the Ministry of Education.

We are now completing our eighth week of distance learning.  Hard to believe! Our staff has been working diligently to ensure that our delivery of curriculum is effective and works for our community. We recognize that for some of our families, more correspondence is not what they need at this time, and for others, scheduled dates and times may not work for their particular situation. Our focus on equity requires intentional differentiated attention to the many needs of our community and our staff.

At St. Brother André school, synchronous learning is currently taking place in many forms and on many platforms. While video conferencing is one form of synchronous learning, it is

important to know that synchronous learning can take many forms.  Synchronous learning is

real-time communication between the educator and the student, including video calls, phone

calls, live Google docs, Hapara workspace, Class Dojo, SeeSaw, and many other

live tools where students and teachers are communicating in real-time.  Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns regarding the weekly assignments.

Enjoy the long weekend,

Mr. Crookshank

Principal
