Dear St. Brother André Community,

As May wraps up we continue our distance learning into June.  Please reach out to your child’s teacher if you have any questions or concerns regarding the weekly assignments.

We are very excited about our St. Brother André Virtual Pilgrimage that is starting June 1st.  Please see the information below and a huge thanks goes out to Mrs. McIntyre for her hard work on this.  I know we can make it happen!

On a side note, congratulations goes out to Ms Mazzarello who has accepted the job as our board's new Elementary Arts Consultant.  She will be greatly missed at SBA but will be an asset to so many schools in our board.  Other staffing changes continue to go on and will be announced in our end of the year update.

     Enjoy the weekend everyone,

Mr. Crookshank

Gr. 6 Leaving Ceremony: Planning continues for a Virtual Gr. 6 Leaving Ceremony to take place in June. More information will be coming in the upcoming weeks.

Kindergarten Information Night:  Information was sent home that would normally be shared on our Kindergarten Information Night for all those who have registered their child for Junior Kindergarten in September.  If you did not receive the information, please do email the school:

Personal Items: The school board continues to work with Ottawa Public Health to devise a plan for everyone to pick up their personal items. Thank you for your patience and information will be shared with you in the near future.

What? SBA Virtual Pilgrimage

A pilgrimage is a journey. A person goes in search of new or expanded meaning about their self, others, nature, or a higher good. It can lead to a personal transformation. (wikipedia)

St. Joseph’s Oratory in Montreal, Quebec is where St. Brother Andre lived and worked. The distance from our school to the oratory is approximately 200km. Our goal is to walk or run 200km throughout the month of June to make our way “virtually” to the Oratory. We might even be able to walk there and back (400km)!

When? Monday June 1st - Friday June 26th

Who? St. Brother Andre School Community (students, families, staff)

Where? Participants can choose their own route. Here is a 1.6 km loop, starting at our school, that families can walk or run.

How? In order to monitor our progress, please send an email to every Friday.  Include your family name (last name) and number of kilometers walked during that week.

Send your email every Friday (June 5th, June 12th, June 19th, June 26th)

On your walk or run, please remember physical distancing.

Follow our progress! @McIntyreSBA
