Do you ever feel confused by the wealth of nutrition information you hear about from your neighbor or co-worker or that blog on the internet? Let Registered Dietitian Chantal clear it all up for you! In this class we will cover popular nutrition topics such as fad diets, the gluten-free trend, the "magical weight loss" products on the market and much more! Offered as part of the À la Carte food literacy project and is funded by the Government of Ontario.

How to Start a Community Garden

Thursday, November 24, 2016 - 6:00-8:00pm
There's much to navigate when establishing a community garden, as a result it can take a year or more to pull it all together. This workshop will go over the crucial elements to navigate when establishing a community garden. At this workshop participants will learn all there is to know about establishing a community garden in Ottawa including sections on site selection & acquisition, garden design & model, establishing a team, managing a garden, consulting your community, accessing funding & much more. Now is the perfect time to start planning for 2017. This program is offered as part of the à la carte food literacy project in partnership with Just Food. Funded by the Government of Ontario.

Join our new writing group!! We will alternate between writing workshop (with instruction and exercises), write-in meetings (where you can work on your WIPs in a welcoming atmosphere) and critique circle (where you can get feedback from your peers!)
