The Board Spiritual Theme for 2014-2015 is:

“Restore one another with a spirit of gentleness.”    Galatians 6:1-9

This quote from Paul’s letter to the community of Galatia reminds us that we walk with one another and that in Christian community; we are called to bear one another’s burdens, guiding each other in making good choices with a heart for the common good.

As Christians, we are called to restoring the many broken relationships in our lives: restoration of our relationship with God’s creation, with our FNMI community, with each other, within the process of learning, and with students and families who face undo challenges.

The intention of this theme is to focus on our call to forgiveness and restoration.  Of course, this will be beneficial to schools that are seeking restorative practice as well as the many safe school initiatives that call us to healthy relationships.

Community is a wonderful gift.  The early Christian communities struggled with many of the challenges we have.  Scripture reminds us that Jesus Christ guides us and his words give us a framework for how to live in community.  Christ “is our peace.” (Eph 2:14)
