A box of chocolates was sent  home today with the family courier. It is assumed that you will sell the complete box for a total of $60.00. Please return the money by October 23rd. Prizes will be given! If in the past, the money was not returned in a timely manner, chocolates will not be sent home. This is the main fundraiser for Parent Council. Thank you for your support.

Last week a permission form went home to participate in the Terry Fox run. Our school goal is $500. If we reach our goal, one student from the "winning" class will have an opportunity to pie Mr. Crookshank :) We will be walking around the community on Friday, October 4, at 12:30pm. We will immediately go to the back of the school after the walk where the winner or winners will pie the principal!

This Friday, September 27th. we will be having a "Jersey Day" in support of our Terry Fox Fundraiser. Students are encouraged to bring in a toonie for Terry and wear their jersey of choice!  Donations may also be made on SchoolCash Online.

Orange Shirt Day was created during the St. Joseph Mission Residential School Commemoration Project in Williams Lake, BC, in May  2013. Former student, Phyllis (Jack) Webstad, told her story of her first day at residential school when her shiny new orange shirt, bought by her grandmother, was taken from her as a six-year old girl, which prompted the realization that many survivors have similar stories. We encourage students and staff to wear an orange shirt on that day to remember Phyllis Webstad for whom the day was named.3- Full colour OCSB logo transparent background (preferred).png

Staff and students are invited to wear an orange shirt on Monday, September 30th to commemorate Phyllis Webstad.

Assignment for Empty Seat Applications will start the second week of October. Please continue to check the OSTA website to see if your child’s school has been listed. If your child’s school has been posted then all available seats have been assigned. Please check bus stop finder to see if your child has been approved. If there is no busing information then your child has been put on a waitlist. We will continue to assign seats throughout the year as they become available.

Students are not to take the bus until officially approved. If students are not approved and are riding the bus, the Seat Availability will be denied for the school year. Check the OSTA Website for approvals and further details.

“Welcome to the Family” is held Friday Nights from 6:00 to 9:00 from October 4th to December 13th. This program is aimed at students in Grade 6 to 12. Supper is provided each week. Contact the church for further details - Juliana Squires and James Pereira, Co-ordinators of Youth Ministry,
